Project Overview

Project Overview “Poverty Alleviation and Job Creation for Unemployed Youths and Able Persons in Nigeria through Agriculture” This is combination of Humanitarian, World Food Security, Nigeria Development, Wealth Creation and Sustainability Project. The project will also target disable persons that can still lay their hand on doing certain job instead of begging on the street to survive. The Nigeria economy in whole is currently facing a rapid increase rate of Unemployment among the youths and able men and women; this has fueled the increase in the level of poverty rate and which also contribute to insecurity and banditry in the country. Nigeria is a country blessed with Natural Resources, Large Arable Land and Large Population but has unstable favorable economy as a result of poor governance and mismanagement on the part of the previous leaders. The Nigeria able men and women especially youths are ready to take up a legitimate job that provide good pay which will enable them to live a comfortable life. I can vow that Nigerians are very hard working and ever ready to work in other to earn a good living with enthusiasm and willingness to learn. This is why they are able to excel and perform credibly whenever they are outside the country. This project will mainly focus on Food Security, Poverty Alleviation/ Job Creation, Community Development, Youths empowerment, Nigeria Economy Development, Security and Social endowment and Wealth Creation and Sustainability for the above stated. The project is agricultural base and will cover 150,000 acres of land which is a very minute part of unused and redundant land available in Nigeria, targeting 10,000 youths. The project is divided into 6 phases and the 1st phase will cover 2,500 Youths to be self-reliance/empowered and able to employ others as supporting hands for cultivation of Palm Oil Trees Plantation, Cocoa Plantation, Cashew Plantation, Millet Plantation and Maize. The project plans to empower 10,000 youths but will start with 2,500 youths for the 1st phase, the beneficiaries to be trained in self-reliance, be given 10 acres of land to cultivate with provision of necessary farm tools, seedling/seed, necessary logistic as well as operating cost and will create thousands of jobs as each empowered youths will also employ supporting workers thereby creating thousands of Jobs and thus will help Nigeria Economy Development and World. The project will keep away a lot of unemployed Nigerians from idleness, thug/public disturbance, banditry, kidnapping and other social vices with the aims to raise their hope of living a meaningful life which will promote World Food Security, Nigeria National Security and Economy Development.

The project will focus on cultivation of both Cash Crops and Food Crops farming to sustain World Food Security to produce organic food and taking a lot of people out of poverty. Nigeria is a country blessed with natural resources, good arable land, sufficient rainfall, good weather for farming and with the above only Nigeria can feed the whole Africa and the excess can also be exported to the Western & European countries. Nigeria is also blessed with large population. There are 36 states and Six Geopolitical Zone in Nigeria with added advantage in different crops base on their economic viability, suitability climate and soil conditions. The Geopolitical Zones in Nigeria are – North-West, South -East, South-South, South-East, North-East and North-Central. This project for the 1st phase will focus on some states in South West zone. The crops to be cultivated are Cocoa Tree, Palm Tree, Cashew Tree, Millet and Maize. The project for the 1st phase will empower 2,500 youths, to be divided by the selected states base on their economic viability, suitability climate and soil conditions.. The South West has farming advantage in Palm Tree, Cocoa, Cashew, Millet, Maize, Plantain etc. Each empowered Youth will also engage at least 3 workers and the project will create thousands of jobs. The Selection will be base on area of interest or enthusiasm and each Youth will be empowered with 10 acres of land, farm tools, seed/seedling, training and working capital till the time their individual crops will be fruiting and ready for sale at both Local and International market and each of them will also employ at least 3 workers with good pay. The crops that will be cultivating for the 1st phase of this project are Palm Tree, Cocoa, Cashew, Millet and Maize. This will engage Thousands of Able and Active persons that are idle as a result of unfriendly economy situation and to support the present government on its efforts to eradicate unemployment, poverty and promote security as idle hands will lead to evil mind by keeping them in active, productive and useful status for the development of Nigeria and the world as whole. The project 1st phase will acquire 25,000 acres of land for the plantation of Palm-Trees, Cocoa, Cashew, Millet and Maize. We are targeting 3 States for cultivating 10,000, 10,000 and 5000 acres of land respectively. Also in each State, the Farm Village will be established and each selected Youth will be given 3 Bed Room Flat to lease at lower rates (Free for the 1st 2 years), Standard School - Free for all their children and wards (Primary & Secondary), Standard and Well equipped Farm & Crops Research Institute for Training & Research, Good Road Network within and outside the Farm Villages, Power and Electricity, Standard and Well Equipped Health Center, Good & Drinkable Water and Recreational Center / Amusement Park. The Farm & Crops Research Institute will be situated in each Geo-political Zone of Nigeria. The project will also provide free transportation for the Trainees by acquire staff buses as well as coordinators utilities vehicles. The project will involve clearing, and preparation of land, planting of crops, and implementation of sustainable farming practices. The will acquire farming modern equipments for effectiveness of its operation of beneficiaries, such as Bulldozers, Trucks, Trailers, Tractors, Tankers, modern farm tools, Staff Buses, Farm Administrative vehicles – Pick-up as well as other utility vehicles. This project will require the sum of $100,000,000 (One Hundred Million-USD) for the 1st Phase to cover the acquisition of Land {25,000 acres - the cost include Survey, processing of C of O from the government, legal and consultancy fees}, necessary Modern Equipment-Bulldozer Machine - this is for clearing of the Forest and to be used also for periodic grading of the road to the farm and within the farm and for other purposes, Spraying Machine, Harvester, Boom Motorizes Sprayer, Harrower, Plough, Cutlasses, Hoes, Plough, Earth Augers, Weeding Machine, Fertilizer, pesticides, Irrigation, Training, Soil Test, Cost of Planting, Seed / Seedling, other heavy vehicles such as (Trailer/Articulated vehicle - 40 ton capacity with accessories – 3 units, Truck - 10 ton capacity with accessories – 5 Units, Tanker - 10 ton capacity with accessories – 6 units, Staff Bus - 50 Seat Passenger Bus with accessories – 50 units, Farm Tractors – 500 units, Pick-up for Farm Monitoring Team- 10 units, Other Utility Vehicles – 3 units) Infrastructure for the Empowered Youths at the Farm Village - 3 Bed Room Flat to lease at lower rates (Free for the 1st 2 years), Standard School - Free for all their children & ward (Primary & Secondary), Standard and Well equipped Farm & Crops Research Institute for Training and Research purposes, Good Road Network within and outside the Farm Villages, Power & Electricity, Standard and Well Equipped Health Center, Good & Drinkable Water and Recreational Center / Amusement Park. The 25,000 acres will be divided among the 5 selected crops at 5,000 acres per crop – Cocoa, Cashew, Palm Tree, Millet and Maize. The expected average yield per each crop is as follows: Cocoa – yearly will yield an average of 500kg per acre = 500x5,000 = 2,500 metric ton / year Palm Tree – yearly will produce 1.6 ton of Red Oil & 0.2 ton of Palm kernel oil/acre/year. Palm Oil – 1.6 x 5,000 = 8,000 metric ton, Palm Kernel Oil – 0.2 x 5,000= 1,000 metric ton per year Cashew – yearly will produce cashew nut of 600kg/acre. 600 x 5,000 = 3,000 metric ton per year Millet – yearly yield per acre is 0.64 ton. In total – 0.64 x 5,000 = 3,200 metric tons Maize – yearly yield per acre is 1.2 ton per acre -1.2 x 5,000 = 6,000 metric ton. In summary, this project will add on yearly bases tonnage of organic food to Nigeria and the World food Security as stated below: Cocoa – 2,500 metric ton; Cashew- 3,000 metric ton; Red palm oil – 8,000 metric ton, Palm kernel oil – 1,000 metric tons, Millet – 3,200 metric tons and Maize – 6,000 metric tons and this will be added & to sustain Nigeria and the World Food Security. The yield above, part will be used in Nigeria, part in other Africa countries and excess be exported to the Western countries and thus will promote and sustain World Food Security and promote Nigeria Economy Development. To sustain the maintenance of the Farm & Crops Research Institute and other infrastructure, the proceed of rent/lease of the Beneficiary Accommodation after two years of free rent as well as Beneficiary’s voluntary contributions will be used to cater for the cost of running the Agric & Crops Institute as well as other infrastructures.
