Executive Summary
The funds will be used by the Project Owner to purchase the identified land, build the clinic and office and provide water, sanitation and educational facilities for 40 identified schools in the following districts in Uganda, namely Wakiso, Fort Portal, Gulu, Hoima, Kyegegwa, Mayuge, Mukono and Soroti districts. This will involve the hiring of a building contractor to construct the clinic and office building, hiring staff to help in the construction of boreholes (for water), bio-digesters and toilets (sanitation), and small classrooms (education). Materials will be purchased for building projects, including water tanks and stands in the needed schools. These facilities will benefit approximately 25,000 students when completed. In addition, water boreholes have an estimated lifespan of 10 years, and will have an added benefit of being available for the villagers in the areas surrounding the schools. The presence of clean water in close proximity to villages will improve security and hygiene and also prevent diseases in these areas. A used vehicle will be bought of a type that can carry equipment and personnel for various activities being undertaken by TYE in undertaking the project. Phase 1 is estimated at a cost of 270,000.00 USD, (1 USD = 3700) but can fluctuate downwards to approximately to 1 USD = 3600.
