Executive Summary
2 EXECUTIVE SUMMARY 2.1 Mission : A building component : aiming to create a set of buildings capable of housing several technical education courses for an enrollment of around 8,000 students. The selected site is located in the central region, more precisely in the commune of Makenene in Cameroon on a plot of approximately 5 ha. - An educational component: aiming to define the lessons of the two selected sectors, to equip the classrooms and workshop rooms accordingly, to support the establishment of a Teaching team, and to complete teacher training; The school, as organized by the Municipality and supported by management and teachers, can only succeed with a solid foundation and strong motivation, allowing students to acquire knowledge, develop critical thinking and find thus, in the society of today and tomorrow, their path, in all the diversity and urban complexity. The first duty of the Maricela school is to give every opportunity to the children who attend school there. Maricela wants to develop her own personality and consolidate the many talents present, also among children with special needs, through inclusive teaching. Maricela believes that it is important to stimulate autonomy, self-confidence and independence in children, helping the child to develop a positive and realistic self-image, an inventive and critical mind as well as a sense of the initiative. In her teaching, Maricela pays attention to the total development of each child based on the talents available. The school cannot be an island closed in on itself. Maricela intends to rely as much as possible on the offer of Brussels, our capital, as socio-cultural added value in our teaching: museums, theaters, history, public transport, etc. Maricela also wants to be the catalyst for the world surrounding the school, notably through collaboration with the government and some organizations in the locality of Mekenene which contribute to the development of students' talents. Maricela attaches great importance to parental involvement and often organizes support or education-related activities, which, organized by the school, make it function as a linchpin in the community. This is precisely what the school must propagate both through the educational project and in the attitude towards the neighborhood and the infrastructure possibilities. Reinforced by a new infrastructure, the Maricela school wants to develop teaching methods which further stimulate the child, which encourage them to act and learn. Working with children on an individual basis, in small or large groups, within or outside of school, with or without teachers, parents, facilitators and volunteers all helps children seek , to love interaction, which increases each child's thirst for learning and school satisfaction. Also very important: the satisfaction of teachers and their assistants at school. This is why particular attention will be paid to the quality of teaching through moments of reflection and additional training. - An integration component : aimed at establishing in Cameroon, for a period of six months, a Maricela integration project managed by the social services of the Mbam Department inoubou . This project will be part of the Lycée construction site and will represent a workforce of 10 people (8 beneficiaries in Makenene and two social service assistants will be there as observers)
